The exhibition In harmony presents works by Icelandic artists Ingunn Fjóla Ingþórsdóttir and Áslaug Íris Katrín Friðjónsdóttir. The two artists approach the medium of painting from a sculptural and conceptual outlook, interested in the delimitations around painting and its boundaries. The works provide sensory experiences of pigments and textural materials such as textile and stone. While Ingunn Fjóla reflects on systems, patterns and colors with an interplay between weaving and painting, Áslaug Íris works with a language of abstraction, repetition, and manipulation. Negative space, relativity, abstract forms, and the harmony between composition, colors and materials provide interesting points of intersection between their two distinct practices.

Á sýningunni Samhljómur leiðir Listval saman myndlistarmennina Áslaugu Írisi Katrínu Friðjónsdóttur og Ingunni Fjólu Ingþórsdóttur sem vinna báðar með sterka efniskennd og formhugsun í verkum sínum. Samhengi hluta og fyrirbæra í tíma og rúmi er þeim báðum hugleikið og birtist á ólíkan hátt í verkum þeirra. Á meðan Ingunn Fjóla kannar mörk málverks og vefnaðar samhliða spurningum um kerfi og samhengi lita vinnur Áslaug Íris með samspil forma, efnis og myndbyggingar. Hér blandast margvíslegur efniviður við málaða fleti og þræði sem birtist í óhlutbundnum formum og í samhljómi við liti, efni og myndbyggingu.
